Putting the care back into Christmas……..care of family, friends, community and the environment.
Join us, and our sister organisation ‘Grow It Yourself”, and have fun sharing ideas for making a low cost, Sustainable, Cittaslow, Christmas.
Loads of simple ideas for things to make and do to ensure you have a wonderful celebration without breaking the budget.
Format of the meeting:
20 minutes introduction. Circulate around tables gathering ideas, socialising with friends en route.
Swapping regifting items and Christmas decorations, buying raffle tickets.
Refreshments to purchase from main bar.
Gift and Decoration Swap Guidelines:
If you are bringing decorations or gifts to swap we will be working via a ticket system:
You will get a ticket for every item you bring.
Leave all items unwrapped. If they are small decorations bag them up together in a see through bag.
You will then use the ticket/s you have to exchange for another item.
You may take back what you brought if it doesn’t get swapped, other wise they will go to the asylum seekers or charity shops.
Everything to be swapped must be good quality:
in as-new condition and
must fit into a standard supermarket bag.
Things we will not accept for swapping:
No clothes and shoes
No plastic items, unless they are Christmas ornaments.
No electrical or battery operated things.
The organisers retain the right to refuse to take any item for exchange if they deem it unsuitable, and it must be removed by the bringer.
The organisers accept no responsibility for any item at any time.
Participants must accept that this is a good will exercise only.
Coffee, tea & Christmas mince pies available for purchase as you socialise after the meeting.
