Funding for our Group At each meeting we request a small donation from everyone to cover the cost of the room hire - about €2 per person is suggested.
Financial membership of Sustainable Clonakilty It is desirable for us to have financial members to provide some working capital. It also gives us an official membership base, which may be required should we seek outside funding for special projects. Financial members also have voting rights at AGM's.
As of the AGM in January 2008 annual financial membership has been set at:
€10 per annum for waged members €5 per annum for unwaged members.
However, if you can afford more and are sympathetic to our cause, you may like to give more.
Major Funding In 2008 we received €4,000 funding from the Clonakilty Town Council for our Energy Project, now known as Clonergy 2020. Part of the funds were used for the Study tour to Austria.
In early 2009 we received €8,000 funding from Failte Ireland for our Clonergy 2020 Energy Audit of Clonakilty. There is another €2,000 to come based on progress reports. This €10,000 from Failte Ireland was part of a prize won by the Clonakilty Chamber of Tourism as 'Best Emerging Rural Tourism Destination'. We thank the Clonakilty Chamber of Toursim and Failte Ireland for their support of our project.
2009 Financial Membership Given the current financial situation membership has been set at €5.00 per annum per person.
